Private Voice and Piano Lessons Learn the proper techniques with instructor Ray Fisher.
Lessons are Saturdays and Wednesdays by appointment. Ages 13- Adult. Cost: $120 for four ½ hour lessons per month.
Tuition is $120 per month and is due the first of each month. It should be made payable to Ray Fisher via cash, check or credit card. Tuition assumes 4 lessons per month. If there are five weeks of your scheduled lesson day, you will have the fifth day off. For example, if you are schedule for Tuesday lessons and there are five Tuesdays in a month, you will have the last Tuesday of that month off.
I appreciate that my students have busy lives; however, for any noticeable change to occur in the voice or to become more proficient on the piano, it is imperative that you set aside time for practice on a regular basis; daily, if possible. Voice lessons will be recorded to provide a tool for students to practice with outside of class time. Piano lessons will be recorded only if requested by the student.
Lessons are on a weekly basis and while I try to be flexible, it's not acceptable for students to miss class without providing notification. If I need to miss a lesson, I will notify the impacted student(s) as far in advance as possible and either offer a make-up time slot OR credit the lesson for the next month. Make-up lessons need to be scheduled within the current month. I will also notify you well in advance of any vacation time I may take. Should you need to miss a lesson, please contact me via cell phone at 916.705.0319 or email at hrayfisher@aol.com (not linked for spam prevention) as soon a possible. If less than 12 hours notice is given (or no notification at all), the student will be charged with no make-up session. Emergency situations will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Please do not come to your lesson if you are sick, but try to follow the 12-hour cancellation notice guideline.
OTHER CHARGES
Students are encouraged to purchase their own music and supplies; however, I can arrange to purchase specialty music via the web for you if you are unable to do so. Any charges incurred will be passed on to the student. Voice students will have to purchase the Estelle Liebling vocal course for their respective vocal ranges, but will also be responsible for purchasing vocal music with piano accompaniment for assigned or chosen repertoire pieces. Piano students will have to purchase the John Thompson Piano Course book for their age and skill level. These books are generally less than $10 each. Voice students will be allowed to use songs from any books I might have in my personal collection.
STUDENT CONTACT INFO
Please notify me of any change in contact information for you. As much as I hate it, sometimes my day job gets in the way and I may have to contact you about a change in lesson schedule for that day. It doesn't happen often, but I do occasionally have to go into the office in the evenings or on weekends and sometimes I have to travel out of town for business.
ANNUAL SCHEDULE
The studio is closed usually each summer for 4 to 5 weeks beginning the first week in July. This schedule varies based on activities at the Opera House and will be published well in advance.
